01 — Overview

This project consists in the redesign of the kitchen extractor fan. A portable or "storable" kitchen appliance would be beneficial for users and homeowners. The project aims to innovate how this product is perceived, used, and produced in the current world.

The main manufacturing process for this product is injection molding.

Conventional extractor hoods are expensive, technician-dependent systems designed for permanent kitchens. Their complex installation increases purchase friction while limiting accessibility for renters and small-space users. As cooking fumes remain a key indoor health risk, current ventilation solutions fail to address mobility, affordability, and evolving ownership needs in modern housing.
